Tonight’s club meeting has 2 significant agenda items that may be of interest to the club members.

First, we vote to accept the recent changes to the Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws and Rules document (ABR). The changes were fairly minor, and they are described in the latest December 2018 newsletter. Members were emailed a copy of the ABR document to review. Tonight ends the 30-day comment period and the final votes will be collected. We need 2/3 majority of all club members to make the changes effective, so please make your voice heard by either attending the meeting or sending Bill Smith an email at secretary@sky-vu.org. If he hasn’t heard from you, you will probably hear from him.

Secondly, we are voting in our officers for 2019. You probably saw in the newsletter that we do have some officer changes for next year, but there are no contests, so the officers on the slate below will be installed by a vote of acclamation tonight. Eric Martin (presently the maintenance officer) has announced that he will be moving early next year to accept a position with a missionary aviation group (congratulations, Eric!!). Michael Turik (our current club president) has chosen to move into the maintenance officer position, and has nominated our current vice president (Jim David) to succeed him as president. Tom Eaton, one of our club approved instructors, has been nominated to fill the vacancy at vice president. Therefore, the new slate of officers effective at the close of tonight’s meeting will be:

President – Jim David
Vice President – Tom Eaton
Secretary – Bill Smith
Treasurer – Ron Diamond
Maintenance Officer – Michael Turik
Membership Officer – Joe Daniel
Safety Officer – John Oot

We appreciate your support, and we look forward to serving the club in the coming year. It’s an exciting time to be a Sky-Vu member!
