Warm welcomes to Tom Ronan and Alex Stark, who represent our 69th and 70th Sky-Vu members. Both were oriented this week and are excited about joining us! Tom is a private pilot who has been out of flying for a couple of years and is anxious to get back into the cockpit. Alex is an ATP working for UPS with 10K+ hours, recently type rated in Airbus A-310s, and is looking forward to getting checked out in 721ZA and flying his family around in her.

With the successful integration of our new Cirrus (it’s been flying a LOT since going on line in June), the Sky-Vu board has decided to “cap” the membership at 70 members for the time being so that we can make sure we have a good balance between club income and scheduling. This means that, for now, there are no more “club-owned” memberships for sale.

For anyone interested in joining Sky-Vu, you should understand that existing members do occasionally place their memberships up for sale. We are currently tracking a waiting list for prospective members who’ve expressed serious interest in joining. If that describes you, then you should call our membership officer to make sure that you are on that list! As soon as an existing member places their share up for sale, you will be notified when you are next on that list (or if someone ahead of you on the list declines to purchase the share…this happens regularly).

Since the Cirrus came on line on June 16th, we’ve added 10 new members and 2 existing members sold their shares to new members. That’s 12 new members in just over 4 months. This has exceeded even the most optimistic estimates, and it indicates that interest in Sky-Vu is at an all-time high. Kudos to the Sky-Vu board…apparently we are doing something right!
